BALLTOWN, Iowa - Oreo is treating 50 small towns in America with the popular cookie, only smaller.

The company mailed small packages of its “mini-Oreos” to every single home in Balltown this week.

A pleasant discovery showed up in the few dozen mailboxes that line this tiny town.

Theresa Houdek said, “I was very surprised because I wasn’t expecting a package. Just bills and regular mail. “

Oreo Cookies are now the talk of Balltown. A little city known for its breathtaking views and its whopping population of 68 people.

“We’re unique because for a small town we get a lot of visitors, “ said Balltown Mayor Herb Sigwarth.

Inside Breitbach’s Country Dining, the historic restaurant that puts Balltown on the map, owners are joking about how they’ll handle the demand for Oreos most likely companion.

Mike Breitbach said, “The town itself probably ran out of milk and they come over here to get it from us, because we always have plenty.”
