DUBUQUE, Iowa - Keith Steuer says he has the best job of anyone working at America’s River Festival. He welcomes weekend campers to Dubuque.

Steuer tells campers, “we’ve got the river boat museum straight across from us.”

And the visitors follow his lead.

Bob Simacek of Lorenz, Iowa said, “Keith was telling us about a few things. Sounds pretty interesting. Maybe riding on the river boat would be kind of fun. “

Brittinae Dralle of Clermont said, “There’s a few restaurants we went to the last time we were here. There is a local one just across the railroad tracks that we are going to head to. “

Organizer say there are visitors in Dubuque from 218 cities, in 21 different states and three countries, including Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Several visitors say they’ll split their time in Dubuque County between the river festival and the celebration at the Field of Dreams.

Joanne Larkman of Medina, Ohio said, “We’ll be down for the river fest and we will try to do dinner down here tomorrow night before the concert or something maybe.”
