CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Kennedy beat Washington and Xavier edged Jefferson on Tuesday night in girls basketball:
CR KENNEDY 72, CR WASHINGTON 65
Stephanie Botkin scored 25 points and Paige Henderickson poured in 24 points to pace Cedar Rapids Kennedy to a 72-65 victory over Cedar Rapids Washington Tuesday night in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at Washington.
Jordon Holmes added 11 points for the Cougars who improved to 12-7 overall and 8-4. Dani Franklin scored 19 points while leading four players in double figures for the Warriors (14-6, 8-4).
Aleena Hobbs added 17 points and made two-3 pointers. Abby Herb and Madison Kramer each chipped in 10 points for Washington.
CR XAVIER 64, CR JEFFERSON 54
Kayla Armstrong scored a team-high 14 points to lead Xavier to a road victory over Jefferson.
Taylor Jacobson led all scorers for Jefferson with 17 points and Maddie Koolbeck pitched in with 14 points for the J-Hawks.
