After a stint covering everything from bull riding to curling in North Dakota, Scott Westerberg is back in his home state after joining the KCRG-TV9 Sports team in August of 2013. (Yes, he realizes the confusing being created by adding another Scott to the sports department!)
Scott's childhood included stops in a number of small towns in Iowa. Scott was born in Algona and lived in Fenton and Wapello before settling in Denison....Go Monarchs!!
Scott got his first taste of the news business while in college and graduated from UNI in 2006. After working a year as a news photographer for KWWL-TV in the Cedar Rapids bureau, Scott made the move north to join the sports team at KFYR-TV in Bismarck. A big part of his time in North Dakota was spent covering the University of Mary, an NCAA D2 school, and hosting a weekly coaches show during the football and basketball seasons.
Sports are never far from Scott's mind. Away from work, he spends his time watching and reading everything he can find to stay up to date on the world of sports. However, that's not all Scott does in his free time. He enjoys all kinds of music and movies, especially the classics, and plans on spending more time with friends and family now that he's back in Iowa.
