Upsets Abound in Second Round

The second round of the high school football playoffs promised some better matchups, and last night did not disappoint. In the game of the night, Cedar Rapids Washington upset top-seeded Linn-Mar, 28-26, on a touchdown pass with 9 seconds left in the game. The Lions had pasted the Warriors, 56-7, just a few weeks prior. City High fell to Cedar Falls, 21-7, after the Little Hawks had reached the state finals the previous two years. And the four-time defending champion Solon Spartans finally met their match last night against Union.
