Des Moines-Sioux City North pitcher Dean McArdle had his stuff Saturday night and he almost had a no hitter in the 4A championship game. He was one out away from that accomplishment when Iowa City West's Ryan Rumpf laced a double to left center field.

McArdle says he hung a curve ball, but he said losing the no hitter was no big deal, winning the title was. Sioux City North won it's first state baseball championship with the 4-0 win over Iowa City West.
