Cedar Rapids-Chad Christensen hit another home run for Cedar Rapids Washington Tuesday night in it's substate final against Xavier. That shot tied the game but the shot hear round "Warrior Nation" came in the final inning. It was still tied 1-1 and Wash had the bases loaded. Then a wild pitch and Adam Flores raced home from third and the warriors won it 2-1.
Elsewhere, Benton Community shutout Marion 7-0, Vinton Shellsburg ousted Western Dubuque 4-2, and Solon is heading to state on the basis of a 17-0 pounding of Pekin. The Spartans have a chance to add a baseball title to the state championships in football and basketball.
