CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Northern Iowa defensive coordinator Jovan Dewitt is leaving the program to become the linebackers coach at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that Panthers coach Mark Farley says Dewitt will be joining the staff of first-year Owls coach Carl Pelini, a former assistant to his brother Bo Pelini, the head coach at Nebraska.
Farley says Dewitt did a great job for the Panthers, adding that the move to FAU is a great opportunity for him.
Dewitt spent the past three seasons at Northern Iowa. He was the linebackers coach in 2009-10 and became the defensive coordinator last season.
