CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The UNI basketball team has a lot of eastern Iowa flavor this year.. And they are young and talented.

The Panthers have nine local players on their team this year. At times, they look like the Eastern Iowa All-Stars.

Two local players that have made a splash in their first year with the program are former Washington standout Wes Washpun, and Jeremy Morgan of Iowa City West.

The 6'6 Morgan is a true freshman making a big impact. Jeremy had 10 points and 7 rebounds against Iowa State, and he pumped in 13 points and was 3-3 from behind the arc in a win over VCU.

Washpun can do it all athletically. He had 16 points and 5 boards agaisnt UW-Milwaukee. The future is bright for the young team, but they are only focusing on the present.
