CEDAR FALLS - After 2 years of the Tirrell Rennie highlight film, the UNI Panthers will have a new starting QB under center in the fall. Right now there are 2 clear candidates, Sophomore Jared Lanpher and redshirt Freshman Sawyer Kollmorgen.

Lanpher played in 5 games last year throwing for 365 yards and 4 TD's. Kollmorgen redshirted last year, but he comes from Jenks high school in Oklahoma, a powerhouse football program.

Both QB's say they are definitely more of a passing QB than Rennie was. Head Coach Mark Farley says, "I won't name a starting QB for sure till 2 a day camp maybe somewhere deep in to 2 a day camp."

The Panthers open up the season September 1st at Wisconsin. After an open date on the 8th they hit the road again for game 2 at Iowa.
