We have talked a lot about the depth the Hawkeyes have this season, and that includes inside, where they have two big men who gained valuable experience last year.
7'1" Adam Woodbury improved throughout his freshman year, averaging 5 points and 5 rebounds per game, while starting 38 games.
"I think I've improved on a lot of things," Woodbury said at Iowa basketball media day. "I've gotten a lot stronger, and my post moves continue to improve."
Joining Woodbury inside is 6'10" junior Gabe Olaseni, a defensive force inside last season, blocking 38 shots. He also improved throughout the season, and said competing with Woodbury in practice has boosted his improvement.
"I think it's helped a lot," he said. "We're kind of like ying and yang -- I'm more of the athletic big guy, he's more of the grind it down low big guy."
"He's made me do a lot of different things, because he's so imposing out there," Woodbury said. "I'm just glad he's on my side."
