Watch On Iowa Live with Kirk Ferentz

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Hawkeye football head coach Kirk Ferentz appeared on 'On Iowa Live' on Monday night.

In Part 1, Ferentz and our panel discussed Iowa's spring game performance, including the emergence of receiver Derrick Willies and the play of Jake Rudock and C.J. Beathard.

They then talked about Ferentz' philosophy in building a program, and what he looks for in assistant coaches.

In Part 2, Ferentz digs into the job of recruiting, how he identifies players as good fits for Iowa, and how Eric Johnson's departure will affect Iowa recruiting.

Then the longtime Hawkeye coach talks about why he has stayed in Iowa City for so many years, and why the college game suits him better than the NFL.

Finally, Ferentz takes questions from the audience in Part 3.
