CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Emma Willis is a sophomore gymnast for the Hawkeyes. She was one of two athletes to appear on the Big 10 "Gymnasts to Watch" List.

She talked to me about her experiences of competing internationally. She's originally from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, and she's traveled to so many different countries. She told me one of her best memories while competing internationally was that she was in New Delhi for the Commonwealth Games, and her bus had to stop and wait for an elephant to cross over the road.

She says that she enjoyed competing internationally, but her main focus now is competing in college. Willis tied for 15th in the all-around at the Big Ten Championships last season as a freshman.

The GymHawks won against Ball State on January 11, and they open Big 10 competition at Ohio State on January 19.

Here's a fun fact, her teammates call her Bruce because her last name is Willis.
