Cornell defeated Monmouth, 63-52, for the Midwest Conference Tournament championship and earned the school's first berth in the NCAA women's basketball tournament. The victory also avenged the only loss this season for the 11th-ranked Rams (24-1).

Cornell led 39-24 at halftime, then stretched that lead to 26 points at 54-28 with 11:04 to play. The Rams coasted in from there, and the celebration began.
