CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Cedar Rapids Titans held open tryouts this weekend for some local players and players from the surrounding area.

Nearly 30 players participated. Training camp starts in February, and the players are hoping for a chance to play for the Titans, who went to the playoffs last season.

"It's amazing how many kids from Iowa who are good football players that we haven't come across yet," said head coach Mark Stoute. "We're always trying to reach out and broaden that network in the local market."
