CEDAR FALLS Doug Schwab didn't want to make this bigger than it was.

But the smile on his face told the truth. It was a big win for the University of Northern Iowa wrestling team and program.

"It means we're 10-0 and we want to keep that roll going," the UNI coach said last night after the No. 5 Panthers smacked No. 16 Iowa State, 24-13, before a soldout college wrestling crowd of 2,020 in the West Gym.

The victory was UNI's first over its "big brother" since 2004 and ended a 10-match losing streak to the Cyclones.

"Personally," he added with that wry smile, "I wanted to get a win against them. We wanted to continue to make a statement."

The Panthers (10-0) won five in a row after ISU's Kyven Gadson opened the dual at 197 pounds with an 11-3 major decision over Bail Minto.
