DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The wrestling programs at Missouri, Old Dominion and Northern Iowa have joined the Mid-American Conference.
The league announced Wednesday that all three schools have signed five-year agreements to become affiliate members.
Missouri's wrestling program lost its valued affiliation with the Big 12 when it jumped to the SEC. The Tigers and Northern Iowa will compete in this season's MAC tournament before becoming full members starting in 2013-14.
Old Dominion will join as a full wrestling member in 2013-14.
The move will give the MAC nine teams and make it the nation's third-largest league behind the Big Ten and the EIWA.
