Several local players signed on with football teams today.

Dubuque Senior's Lucas LeGrand signed to play offensive line for the Hawkeyes. And elusive Union quarterback Jay Scheel signed with Iowa, and is expected to play wide receiver.

Cedar Falls offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher signed with Alabama on Wednesday as part of the No. 1 recruiting class in America.

And linebacker Jared Farley signed with UNI to play for his dad Mark Farley, and with his brother Jake.

Mark Farley said Springville running back Elias Nissen, who will play tight end for the Panthers, might be the steal of the recruiting class.
