IOWA CITY, Iowa -- As far as Iowa Athletics Director Gary Barta is concerned, there are no issues concerning graduate assistant D.J. Hernandez coaching with the football program.

"D.J. hasn't done anything wrong, as far as I know," Barta said. "So, yes, I'm 100 percent behind D.J."

Hernandez's younger brother, former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, was charged with first-degree murder last month. D.J. Hernandez will coach Iowa's tight ends this fall.

"Kirk (Ferentz) made me aware of the situation as soon as he found out about it," Barta said. "But there's really not a lot to talk about other than D.J.'s here, we're going to support him and again it's critical for everybody to realize that D.J. hasn't done anything wrong."
