AMES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa State went for broke against Nebraska, and now coach Paul Rhoads and his players must pick up the pieces.

The Cyclones are trying to shake off the heartbreak of a 31-30 overtime loss to No. 9 Nebraska as they get ready for next Saturday's game at Colorado and a chance to become bowl eligible.

Iowa State (5-5, 3-3 Big 12) faked its extra point kick after scoring in overtime against the Cornhuskers and tried a pass for what would have been the winning 2-point conversion. But the pass fell short and Nebraska picked it off to end the game.

Rhoads says he couldn't wait to get around his players on Sunday. He says they've already gotten over the loss and are looking ahead.
