GRINNELL, Iowa - We in Iowa know what kind of offensive madness has been created by the men's basketball teams of Grinnell College over the years.
But Tuesday night ... oh my!
Jack Taylor, a 5-foot-10 sophomore from Black River Falls, Wis., scored an NCAA-record 138 points for the Rams in their 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist Bible.
Taylor made just 6 of 34 threes over his first two games. But Tuesday, he popped in 27 of 71 threes and was 52-of-108 from the field overall. He also made seven free throws.
Taylor broke the single-game scoring record with just under five minutes to play in the game.
Minutes later, the play-by-play announcer said "He's unconscious! I believe he's blacking out right now!"
Taylor also broke the NCAA record for 3-pointers in a game.
