Dubuque Beats Wartburg For IIAC Title

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Dubuque pulled away from Wartburg to win the IIAC championship and receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 73-60 win on Sunday.

In other small college news, top-ranked William Penn pulled away from a 38-33 halftime lead with a big second half Sunday to defeat No. 10 Mount Mercy, 104-81, in the championship game of the Midwest Collegiate Conference men’s basketball tournament.
William Penn (30-1) secured the league’s automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament. Mount Mercy (27-5) should be in line for an at-large bid.
William made 22 of 44 3-point shots and got 30 points from Taylor Stoutner. LaDon Singleton scored 16 for Mount Mercy, Lamar Wall and Chad Underwood 15 apiece.
