Cyclones Trail UConn At Halftime

NEW YORK CITY, New York -- The Cyclone basketball team trails Connecticut, 36-26, at halftime in the Sweet 16.
UConn's three-point shooting hurt Iowa State in the first half. The Huskies hit 7 of 12 from behind the arc, led by guard Shabazz Napier's 4-5 from distance. Napier had 12 points to go with 2 rebounds and 2 assists for UConn. Fellow Huskies guard Ryan Boatright also hurt ISU from the outside, scoring 10 points.
The Cyclones struggled on the offensive end, making just 8 of 25 first-half attempts. Monte Morris and Dustin Hogue each shot 3-5 in the half, but the rest of the team combined to miss 14 of 17 attempts. Star forward Melvin Ejim made just 1 of 8 shots, while DeAndre Kane made just 2 of 7 and turned the ball over 3 times.
