PROVO, UTAH -- Backup forward Daniel Edozie swatted a shot to preserve a one-point lead in the final 10 seconds, and the No. 21 Iowa State basketball team followed up its upset of Michigan last weekend with another strong performance, beating BYU 90-88.

DeAndre Kane shot 9-15 for 21 points, and added 11 rebounds and three assists for Iowa State. Georges Niang scored 19 points and hit a big jumpshot with 1:25 left to put the Cyclones up by 5.

Iowa State missed three of five free throws down the stretch, but hung on for the win when Edozie turned away a Tyler Haws shot and came up with the rebound.

The Cyclones also got a big game from Melvin Ejim, who hit three 3-pointers and scored 21 points.
