Coe Wrestlers Flatten Cornell

By KCRG Sports

MOUNT VERNON – Coe was all about the style.

It wasn’t the Kohawks’ crimson singlets, the shoes or headgear the displayed that impressed head coach John Oostendorp. The way they competed in them, however, provided the positive vibes.

“At most of the weights I thought we came out and wrestled the style we pride ourselves on,” Oostendorp said. “That’s just wrestling hard-nosed and attacking.”

The 11th-ranked Coe overpowered No. 18 Cornell early, winning six of the first seven weights and rolled to a 27-12 victory last night in the latest Bremner Cup All-Sports Series event at Small Multi-Sport Center. Coe is now 13-4 overall and Cornell fell to 10-4.
