Coe Offense Ignites In Sweep of Dubuque

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - After a split on the first day of the series, the Kohawk offense came alive on Sunday against Dubuque. Coe hammered nine hits in an 8-3 win and 12 in a 10-2 nightcap victory.
Coe scored early and often in the first game. Ben Larison (Robins, Iowa/Linn-Mar) walked to start the game. With one out, Larison stole second and moved to third on a throwing error by the Spartan catcher. AJ Reuter (Monticello, Iowa/Monticello) then walked on four-straight pitches before Colton Janssen (Arlington, Iowa/Starmont) singled to left field to plate Larison for the first run.
With one out in the second, Cole Tomlinson (Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro) walked. Tomlinson stole second and moved to third on a ground ball to the first baseman by Andrew Brierton (Cary, Ill./Cary Grove). In his first collegiate at-bat, Cal Kragenbrink (Mount Vernon, Iowa/Mount Vernon) singled up the middle to plate Tomlinson, giving Coe a 2-0 lead.
