Cedar Rapids Native Schulte Returning To Boston Marathon

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- On Monday, 36,000 people will run the Boston Marathon, the first race since last year's tragic bombings that killed three and injured hundreds.
Cedar Rapids' Mike Schulte ran last year and was determined to return.
Last year, Schulte and his running buddy Sam Houston finished the race in three hours and 35 minutes. As they made their way back to the finish line for lunch about an hour later, the pair heard an explosion and saw smoke.
The experience frightened Schulte, but he wouldn't let the fear keep him from returning to race again.
"It's absolutely the motivator for me to return," he said.
