Matt Oye Rejoins Kernels from Arkansas

The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that RHP Matt Oye has rejoined the Kernels from the Arkansas Travelers (TEX). Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Tuesday.

Oye pitched in two games for the Travs, with no record and a 7.71 ERA. In 2.1 IP, he allowed six runs (two earned) on six hits, walked two and struck out two. He was signed by the Angels as a 2009 non-drafted free agent and has made five relief appearances for the Kernels with a 2.70 ERA in 6.2 IP.

With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the disabled list.

The Kernels continue a nine-game road trip on Wednesday against the Clinton LumberKings at 7:00 pm, returning to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, July 31st. Tickets may be purchased on-line at, or by calling the Kernels Ticket Office at 896-7560. Ticket office hours are 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
