Kernels Postponed, Hoping To Regain Momentum

CEDAR RAPIDS – Persistent rain forced postponement Sunday of the Cedar Rapids Kernels-Burlington Bees Midwest League baseball game at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The teams are scheduled to play a double-header Monday afternoon beginning at 2:05. Both games will be seven innings.

Cedar Rapids has lost four games in a row but still led the Midwest League’s Western Division by 2 1/2 games over Beloit going into Sunday’s play.

The Kernels are scheduled to pitch left-hander Brett Lee and Hudson Boyd.

The club will conduct a Memorial Day pancake breakfast the ballpark from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday morning. Cost is $6 for adults.
