Kernels Begin Spring Training Games Thursday

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The 2011 Cedar Rapids Kernels begin their slate of Spring Training games against South Bend on Thursday, March 17 at Tempe Diablo Complex in Tempe, AZ, and continue through Sunday, April 3rd. The Kernels will play seventeen Spring Training games against various Cactus League teams with all games starting at 3:00 pm, central time.
March 17 - South Bend (Diamondbacks) vs. Kernels
March 18 - Kernels vs. Asheville (Rockies) at Salt River Fields
March 19 - Kernels vs. Wisconsin (Brewers) at Maryvale Baseball Complex
March 20 - Peoria (Cubs) vs. Kernels
March 21 - South Bend vs. Kernels
March 22 - Kernels vs. Peoria at Fitch Park
March 23 - Asheville vs. Kernels
March 24 - Kernels vs. Burlington (Athletics) at Papago Park
March 25 - Burlington vs. Kernels
March 26 - Peoria vs. Kernels
March 28 - Kernels vs. Asheville at Salt River Fields
March 29 - Kernels vs. Burlington at Papago Park
March 30 - Peoria vs. Kernels
March 31 - Kernels vs. South Bend at Salt River Fields
April 1 - Kernels vs. Burlington at Papago Park
April 2 - Peoria vs. Kernels
April 3 - Kernels vs. Peoria at Fitch Park
All home Spring Training games will be played at the Tempe Diablo Complex in Tempe, AZ. Directions to all Spring Training parks can be found at MLB.com and selecting the appropriate MLB team.
The Kernels are scheduled to break camp on Monday, April 4 and arrive in Cedar Rapids later that day. They open the 2011 MWL regular season at Peoria on April 7 with Opening Night set for Monday, April 11 vs. Wisconsin at 6:35 pm.
Season ticket packages and 10-game 'Anytime' coupon books are on sale now at www.kernels.com. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 21 at 10 am in the Kernels Ticket Office and on-line at www.kernels.com. Ticket Office hours are 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
