"Hawking" the Kernels

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Morgan Hawk interned for two summers with Cedar Rapids Kernels long time broadcaster John Rodgers. Now Hawk is sitting in Rodgers' chair.

Rodgers resigned a the end of last season.

Morgan credits Rodgers for giving him his break into broadcasting and teaching him so much about the business.

Prior to the assignment with the Kernels, Hawk had been doing some play by play for Cedar Rapids Xavier basketball.

Hawk is a Bloomfield native who graduated from the University of Iowa. While in college he also interned at TV9 Sports.
