DAYTON, Ohio — Junior Arias and Juan Perez led a Dayton 13-hit attack with three hits and two RBIs apiece as the Dragons defeated Cedar Rapids, 8-3, on Monday.
Two other players, Kyle Waldrop and Yovan Gonzalez, had two hits each in the Dragons’ slugfest. Gonzalez and Steve Selsky also had two RBIs.
Dayton scored two runs in the third inning to take a 2-0 lead, then added five runs in the seventh with the score tied 3-3.
Kernels starter Ryan Crowley went 5 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on eight hits.
Relievers Logan Odom and Carmine Giardina got roughed up. Odom gave up two runs in 2/3 of an inning and absorbed the loss, falling to 0-2 with a blown save. Giardina also went 2/3 of an innings and surrendered three runs on three hits.
