Alvarez Feeling Good at the Plate

Cedar Rapids-Kernel's infielder Ricky Alvarez switched to an open stance at the plate this year, and it is paying off.

He is batting .276 and leads the team with 46 RBIs.

Defensively, Alvarez can play both first and third, but says he grew up in Tijuana playing the hot corner.
