USHL Playoffs: Dubuque Sweeps, Waterloo Takes 2-1 Lead

The Dubuque Fighting Saints sweep through the Eastern Conference semifinals after defeating Muskegon 3-2 in overtime on Sunday.

Dubuque had a 2-0 lead going into the 3rd period, but Muskegon scored two goals three minutes apart to tie it up. The game went into overtime and it was Frankie DiChiara who scored the winning goal at the 11:12 mark in overtime.

The Fighting Saints will face Youngstown in the Eastern Conference finals on Friday at 7:35 pm in Dubuque.

Waterloo took the lead in its series against Fargo on Sunday.

The Force started the game with two goals in the first period, but the Blackhawks caught fire in the 2nd period scoring three straight unanswered goals. Waterloo would win game three by a final score of 6-4.

The Blackhawks lead the series 2-1, game four will on Tuesday at 7 pm in Waterloo.
