DUBUQUE, Iowa - The St. Cloud State men’s hockey team is making its first ever appearance in the Frozen Four on Thursday night. One player who’s been a part of the historic season is Dubuque native Brooks Bertsch. He graduated from Dubuque Wahlert in 2008, his passion for hockey started when his two older brothers played in the youth hockey leagues in Dubuque.

Bertsch has two goals and seven assists this season for the Huskies. While this is St. Cloud State’s first Frozen Four appearance, Bertsch is no stranger to winning championships. He helped the St. Louis Bandits win the NAHL Robertson Cup in 2009 and helped the Dubuque Fighting Saints win the Clark Cup in 2011.

He’ll look to do the same for St. Cloud State as the Huskies face Quinnipiac on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh. The winner will face Yale in the championship game on Saturday.
