IOWA CITY, Iowa - Carly Mohns’ bounce-back season was a good one.
Sidelined by a torn ACL during her sophomore season, the 6-foot-1 power forward averaged a double-double in 2012-13 at Brodhead (Wis.) High School.
Tuesday, Mohns disclosed that she has committed to play women’s basketball at the University of Iowa, starting with the 2014-15 season.
“I really love the atmosphere there,” she said. “I love the coaches, what they see in me and what they believe I can do.”
Mohns, who picked the Hawkeyes over Wisconsin-Green Bay, averaged 14.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game and shot 53 percent from the field. Brodhead went 23-2.
She was selected as a Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 3 all-state player. She also earned Wisconsin State Journal Division 3 all-area first-team and Southern Rock Valley Conference Player of the Year honors.
