Cedar Rapids-Former Hawkeye runner, Diane Nukuri-Johnson
won the women's division of the Fifth Season 8K with a winning time of 26:06. It was almost 40 seconds faster than she ran the distance two years ago on the old course that went turned around at Bever Park and finished in downtown Cedar Rapids.

Construction on Second Avenue SE forced a course change this year.
The flat course out along Otis Road SE also proved to be fast.
Men's winner Macdonard Ondara of Kenya outdueled Samuel Ndereba to the finish line in 22:42, just 4 seconds off the event record.

946 runners were registered for the 8K and 823 were registered for the 5K.
