Iowa's Hampton Has Torn ACL, Out For Season
By Marc Morehouse, Reporter
IOWA CITY -- Iowa running back Jewel Hampton suffered a torn ACL in the second half of the No. 18 Hawkeyes' loss at Arizona last Saturday, according to sources.
Hampton injured his left knee, will have surgery and miss the rest of the season. The 5-foot-9, 210-pounder from Indianapolis suffered an ACL tear in his right knee prior to the 2009 season. He took a redshirt in '09 after that repair.
Paki O'Meara, listed as the No. 2 running back this week behind sophomore Adam Robinson, is likely out this week, too, after suffering a concussion at Arizona.
True freshman Marcus Coker, who suffered a shoulder/collarbone injury early in fall camp, is the next in line.
