Hawkeyes Now 3-0 On European Trip

PARIS — Iowa’s men’s basketball team improved to 3-0 in Europe after topping France’s AMW All-Stars 82-60 today.

Iowa junior Aaron White was named the game MVP with 18 points and five rebounds. Senior Melsahn Basabe scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Peter Jok added 13 points, while Adam Woodbury had nine rebounds. Devyn Marble dished seven assists and Gabe Olaseni scored nine points and pulled down seven boards.

Marble, Woodbury, White, Basabe and Josh Oglesby were the game starters. Iowa struggled from 3-point range, shooting just 2-of-18, but dominated the French team with a 57-33 rebounding edge. Iowa outscored its opponent 48-14 in the paint.

Iowa’s game was the finale in a basketball triple-header on Friday. One of France’s all-star teams beat Temple 82-52 while another topped Alabama 100-70.

Iowa will play its final exhibition in Paris at 1:30 p.m. Saturdday against St. Quentin. Iowa then will play two more games in southern France.

In other news, Iowa’s Dec. 13 game at Iowa State will start at 8:30 p.m. and ESPNU will air it.
