IOWA CITY — The largest women’s basketball crowd of the season assembled Saturday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

No. 23 Nebraska seized control with a 14-0 run midway through the first half, and defeated Iowa for the seventh straight time, 80-67, in a Big Ten battle in front of 8,021.

“I just don’t have a lot of positive things to say about the game,” said Hawkeyes Coach Lisa Bluder, who was denied in her bid to reach C. Vivian Stringer’s 269 career wins at Iowa.

“They’re a good team. They ran the ball extremely well.”
