Cedar Rapids-One of the students said she can't sew a button on a shirt, but she loves to tie flies, the kind you use to catch fish.

She is just one of about 35 " students" who gather on Tuesday nights at Cedar Rapids Kennedy for a fly tying class.

Mike Jacobs of Monticello is the instructor. Every Tuesday he demonstrates three new flies for class.

Jacobs says tying flies is definitely an art and that would be hard to argue when you see the ones he ties.
