Iowa City-Bill Liston loves fishing below the Burlington Street dam in Iowa City and the reason is simple, he catches fish.

Sometimes the stripers are hitting. Sometimes the walleyes are biting. Right now catfish are actively feeding.

Liston has been pulling some huge flatheads out of the deep holes below the dam. Shad is his favorite bait.

Liston says the catfish bite is a couple of weeks early but he has no complaints. According to Bill, it just makes for a longer fishing season.
