High Winds Cause BWCA Delay

Sawbill, MN-Our canoe trip to the Boundary Waters during the last week of September did not go as scripted. High winds on Sunday and Monday kept us and other paddlers huddled up like Everest climbers waiting out a high mountain storm.

When the wind broke on Tuesday we broke out the paddles, canoes and backpacks. The next three days were beautiful if rather cool.
The colors were not as brilliant in the BWCA as we have experienced in the past, but a big, bull moose that came to the lake shore on our final day out certainly made it a trip to remember.
