Wapsie River-In a few weeks it should be hanging on Charlie Ratliff's wall. We are talking about the mount of the 14 pound walleye the Paris angler caught in the Maquoketa River in November of 2007.
Charlie keeps fishing the Maquoketa and the Wapsie for walleyes. He says late fall is the best time and he had his best results on rainy, overcast days.
Yes, he catches his fair share of walleyes, but nothing close to the walleye of a lifetime that he caught in 2007. That puppy was just six ounces off the state record.
