By John Campbell, TV9 Sports
Waverly-Doug Snook got his first taste of working on a golf course during his high school days in Newton. He knew right away he enjoyed it and he ended up making it his life's work.
Snook has been a golf course superintendent for 37 years, the last 30 at the Waverly Golf Course.
He enjoys maintaining the course and mentoring young people getting into the profession.
Snook has been active in the Iowa Turfgrass Institute and the Iowa Golf Course Superintendents Association.
His work and dedication have earned him many honors, but one of the highest comes May 21st when he will be inducted into the Iowa Golf Association's Hall of Fame.
