IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A Cyclone wrestler was arrested in Iowa City this weekend for urinating in the basement of a downtown bar.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, bar staff at the Sports Column observed 21-year-old Trent D. Weatherman, of Ames, entering the basement of the business. The basement is off limit to the public.

Police said while Weatherman, originally from Huxley, was in the basement, he urinated in an empty beer tub. Officers approached Weatherman, who smelled strongly of alcohol and showed other signs of intoxication.

Weatherman failed a field sobriety test, but refused a breath test. Regardless, police took him into custody for public intoxication. He has already pleaded guilty and been fined $100, according to court records.

Weatherman is listed as a redshirt senior on Iowa State University's wrestling roster. Weatherman, who wrestles at 157 pounds, posted a 1-1 record during the 2011-2012 season. He sat out most of the season due to injury. He was a two-time state champion at 152 pounds.

Court records show Weatherman pleaded guilty to public intoxication in Story County in 2011.
