MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - Cornell College sophomore Nick Brautigam has been named to the Team of the Week for games of Sept. 1-4.

Brautigam was one of two safeties selected to the 11-player defensive unit. He was the only player from the Iowa Conference honored on this week's team.

Brautigam had a pivotal interception and 60-yard return for a touchdown in Cornell's 36-35 season-opening win last Saturday at Olivet (Mich.). The scoring play came early in the third quarter with the Rams trailing 21-10. Brautigam finished the game with 10 tackles, including seven solo stops.

The Rams (1-0) play Macalester (0-1) in Saturday's home opener at Ash Park Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
