Jesup, Iowa- 160 pound junior Austin Even won the first state wrestling title in 37 years at Jesup high school. Even beat Brett Roberts of Eddyville-Blakesburg 4-2 in the finals to finish the season with a record of 45-2. Austin is the first in his family to win a state title. Dad was a state qualifier, and 2 uncles were place finishers at state. Even won the state championship despite dislocating his shoulder in the semi-finals.
