Wesleyan's McGraw, Petersen Receive MCC Golf Honorable Mention Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - Iowa Wesleyan College senior golfers Emery McGraw (Loveland, Colo.) and Melissa Petersen (Wilton, Iowa) were named honorable mention selections when the Midwest Collegiate Conference announced its men's and women's golf all-conference awards on Thursday.

McGraw was named an MCC men's golf all-conference honorable mention for the first time in his four-year career at IWC after leading the Tigers in both the fall and spring seasons. He posted a stroke average of 80.3 in 19 rounds over the fall and spring, including averages of 80.7 in the fall and 79.6 in the spring.

McGraw picked up a pair of top 10 finishes in the spring season, including a tie for sixth place at the Grand View University Spring Classic at Briarwood Country Club in Ankeny. He also shot a season low round of 73 in the fall at the Viterbo (Wis.) University Ronnie Eastman Invitational.

Petersen received MCC women's golf honorable mention honors for the third straight year after again leading the IWC women's team. She finished the year with a 96.5 stroke average over 13 rounds, including an average of 94.9 in eight rounds in the fall and 99.2 in five spring rounds.

Petersen shot a low round of 86 in the fall on the second day of the St. Ambrose University Fighting Bee Classic at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport. Her top finish of the year was a tie for 14th at the Grand View Spring Classic in Ankeny.
