DUBUQUE, Iowa - After a thrilling 2-1 overtime win on Wednesday night, the Fighting Saints had a chance to push the Fargo Force to the brink of elimination on Friday in Dubuque. With a win, Dubuque would place themselves just one win away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals of the Clark Cup Playoffs.

Fargo was able to find the lone goal of the first period. Garrett Haar fired a shot from the blueline past Matt Morris to give the Force a 1-0 lead. Joe Rehkamp and Austin Farley picked up the assists and the Force took the lead into the second period.

The Fighting Saints scored twice in the second period, picking up the pace to take a 2-1 lead before the start of the third frame. John Gaudreau got on the scoresheet first, wrapping the puck around the post for a goal on a delayed penalty. After Gaudreau tied the game, Shane Sooth tapped home a Nick Luukko rebound to give the Fighting Saints their first lead of the night.

Fargo could not break through to tie the game in the third period. The last forty seconds were spent at a six on four disadvantage as Fargo pulled its goaltender to attempt to capitalize on what was already a powerplay opportunity. Matt Morris stopped 25 shots in the win. The Fighting Saints will go for the sweep Saturday night in Fargo. Pregame coverage on Dubuque's Super Hits 106 starts at 6:35.
